Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how eatQuiz- BrainWar ("eatQuiz", "we", "us", or "our"), a real-time multiplayer brain-training game available through eatquiz.com and related mobile apps (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service. By creating an account or otherwise using eatQuiz, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third-party sign-in providers.

A. Information you provide

• Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. Guest accounts receive a randomly generated player identifier instead.
• Profile details: display name, chosen in-game avatar, and country/flag (if selected).
• Gameplay content: match results, scores, rounds played, hearts and coin balances, rating, league placement, and leaderboard position.
• Social features: friend codes, friend lists, and friend/play requests sent or received within the Service.
• Communications: messages you send us through the in-app Contact Us form (your name, subject, and message) or via WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us that way.

B. Information collected automatically

• Usage data: matches played, mini-games selected, session activity, and interaction with announcements and features.
• Device & technical data: device type, operating system, app version, and general connection information, collected to keep matchmaking and real-time gameplay working correctly.
• Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we store a messaging token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver match invites and announcements to your device.

C. Information from third parties

When you sign in with Google, Google shares limited profile information with us (name, email, profile photo) as permitted by your Google account settings and Google's own privacy policy.

2How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your player account and sync your progress across devices;
• Operate core gameplay features, including matchmaking, live multiplayer rounds, scoring, hearts, coins, ratings, and leagues;
• Maintain and display global and friend leaderboards;
• Enable social features such as friend requests, play requests, and challenge invitations;
• Send you match invitations, in-app announcements, and service-related push notifications;
• Respond to messages you send through the Contact Us form or WhatsApp;
• Monitor, maintain, and improve the stability, performance, and fairness of the Service (including detecting bugs and abuse);
• Enforce our Terms & Conditions and keep the Service safe for all players.

3Google Sign-In & Firebase

eatQuiz uses Google Sign-In to let you create an account securely without a separate password, and uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, and Cloud Messaging) to operate real-time gameplay, store account and match data, and deliver notifications. Firebase is provided by Google LLC and processes data on our behalf in accordance with Google's own privacy and security practices. You may revoke eatQuiz's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings; doing so will not delete gameplay data already stored with us, which you can request to have deleted as described in Section 8.

4How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With other players: your display name, avatar, country flag, rating, league, and leaderboard position are visible to other players as part of normal gameplay. Your email address is never shown to other players.
• Service providers: we use Google Firebase for authentication, database, and messaging, and may use hosting and analytics providers, solely to operate the Service.
• Advertising partners: if ads are enabled in the app, limited technical data may be shared with our ad network as described in Section 5.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
• Business transfers: if eatQuiz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5Advertising

eatQuiz may display in-app advertisements through Google AdMob to support the free-to-play Service. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, and may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before showing personalized ads and provide a way to manage your ad preferences.

6Data Retention

We retain account and gameplay information for as long as your account is active, so that your progress, coins, and leaderboard standing remain available to you. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections, authenticated API access, and Firebase's built-in security rules — to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to continuously review and improve our safeguards.

8Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate profile information directly within the app, or by contacting us;
• Delete your account and associated personal data;
• Object to or restrict certain processing, such as personalized advertising;
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (for example, by disabling notifications or revoking Google Sign-In access).

To exercise any of these rights, use the Contact Us option in the app or email us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

9Children's Privacy

eatQuiz is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

10International Data Transfers

eatQuiz operates globally, and the infrastructure providers we use (including Google Firebase) may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and where changes are material, we will provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
